training tips from thegliderlady
Can gliders be potty trained?

No, however my gliders are trained to go potty as soon as I take them from their cages. I immediately take them to a garbage can and they sit on the edge of my hand. As I very lightly support the ends of their tails they begin to eliminate.
Please understand gliders do potty often, and they are not shy about where they go, but if you know your glider, you can usually tell when they are about to go,and taking a few minutes over a trash can may save you  some cleaning, especially with bra babies.
A BRA BABY is a sugar glider who is very bonded to its owner and is content to curl up inside a bra or a mans pocket.

                             Can you wink?
Sugar Gliders are very smart and love to imitate. I started teaching mine to wink when I noticed my gliders looking up into my eyes and closing their eyes when I smiled at them. I decided to give it a try with Savannah and winked one eye. At first she closed both eyes, then after watching me she winked one eye.I was so happy, I kissed her head about 20 times and she got the picture that when she winked I loved it. Then I'd say, "Savannah, can you wink," and I'd wink my eye and she would follow by winking back. Now all my gliders wink on request, as well as going potty before we play.
